Haunted Places in Tennessee

My grandmother was from Tennessee and every night she used to tell me story. She knew many stories and I always used to sleep besides her. She told me many stories of fairies and beautiful princess. One night, she told me a story of haunted places in Tennessee. My grandmother thought, I would get frightened by listening to her story but I was very calm and composed.

My granny knew many real life stories about haunted places and she herself had many such haunted encounters in her youth. I always used to request her to tell me all the stories she knew. In fact, the story she had told me was not a real one but a cooked up story to gauge my response.

One day at night, we all were watching a movie and it was about haunted places in Tennessee. The movie was very scary and every one got frightened by the events that were shown in it, but my grandmother was the only one who kept laughing while watching the movie. My mom was very scared and she went back to her bedroom to sleep. My mom asked me to sleep but I didn’t listen to her because next day was Sunday.

After the movie was over, I asked my grandmother why she was laughing while watching the movie and she told me, movies are nothing but fictional stories and the horror can only be felt in real stories. She told me, she knew at least 15 real stories of haunted places in Tennessee and all of them are genuinely true.

I requested her to tell me all the stories she knew about haunted places but she declined saying, I was too young to know about such stories. One day, my school teachers had decided to take all the kids of my class for a picnic and the picnic place was in Tennessee.

I came back from school and requested my mom to send me for the school picnic. The moment, I told the name of picnic place in Tennessee, my grandmother straight away told my mom not to send me to this place. I started crying and was terribly upset but my grandmother told me this place was haunted and is not good for kids.

My grandmother made a call to my school principal and requested her to change the location of the picnic, which she did immediately and the location of my class picnic was changed to New York.
